JACKSONVILLE, Fla. — It’s day nine of VyStar Credit Union’s online outage, and many customers remain upset and angry.
“We’ll just cross our fingers that they do soon,” VyStar customer Michelle Forwood said.

The wait continues for Vystar customers.
The credit union opened some branches on Sunday to help customers meet their financial needs, as the outage continues with no end in sight for people like Selecia Young-Jones.
“I guess things keep happening. I guess deposits are being made, and that’s what I’m here to verify,” Young-Jones said.
Action News Jax spoke with Joel Swanson, VyStar, Director of Member Experience on Friday.
He said customers can still access their account through an ATM in the meantime.
“Their debit card can work at ATMs across the country as part of a network that we have through many major retailer brands, where they will be able to access their account at those ATMs for free,” Swanson said.
However, this is not enough for some.
“I need accessibility. My daughter is in college. If she needs funds for school or needs help with it. I am his reference,” said VyStar customer Gayle Lunardi.

Lunardi said she stopped using her card altogether.
“I don’t want to spend anything and I don’t want to overdraw my account either. That’s another thing: what if I don’t have enough in there? Lunardi said.
She, along with many others, desperately searches for the light at the end of the tunnel.
“Maybe they should have had a better system in place or a backup in place and hopefully they learn from that,” Young-Jones said.
There is no solid time commitment from VyStar on the return of online banking. We are only told that it will not be weeks.
